2024 is a wrap!
2024 has been such a whirlwind, hasn’t it? From economic uncertainties to shifts in the political landscape, this year hasn’t held back on throwing challenges our way. On top of that, starting again in Kenya came with professional and personal adjustments for me.
As we wind down, I’ve been taking a step back to reflect on the big wins and the moments that often get lost in the shuffle. Inspired by something Mel Robbins shared, I’ve been practicing a simple yet powerful habit: every day, I write down five things I’m grateful for. It’s a small act, but it has had such a profound impact.
Some days, gratitude comes easily—like joining the fantastic team at Contented and working on exciting projects like The AFS Forum. Other days, it’s the little things—like a great cup of coffee or a small victory in my passion business!
Over time, focusing on gratitude has reshaped my perspective. It’s made me more resilient and focused on opportunities rather than obstacles. This has allowed me to celebrate wins and approach projects with renewed energy. Now, the more I consciously look for reasons to be thankful, the more I find them, and this mindset has carried over into every part of my life.
As we wrap up 2024, I’m excited to carry this habit into the new year. Gratitude isn’t just about looking back—it’s about staying present and intentionally preparing for the future. I really encourage you to try it: take a moment each day to write down five things you’re grateful for. It might surprise you how it shifts your perspective and, in turn, enhance the way you approach work and the world around you.
